Every batch of steel comes with an inspection certificate from the steel mill, usually type 3.1 to BS EN 10204.
What it shows
- The grade and standard of the steel.
- Chemical composition and mechanical test results.
- The heat or cast number that links the certificate to the steel.
Traceability
We record which material goes into which member, so the steel in your building can be traced back to its certificate. Certificates go into the handover file with the Declaration of Performance for UKCA-marked steel.
